Tailoring thimbles, decorative – Comfortable metal thimble
No seamstress can do without this tool. Tailoring thimble is used to protect the finger from accidentally being pierced by a needle. It takes the form of a small but very hard protective cap. It is usually closed at the top so as to fully cover the finger. However, there are also such decorative thimbles, which have a special hole at the end. This allows the tailor to manipulate the fabric more easily while sewing. This type of thimble is generally not recommended for amateurs who are only just learning to sew.
Decorative thimble can be made from various types of materials. Metal, rubber, leather, glass, wood, or even porcelain work well for this purpose. The vast majority, however, are made of metal, because in this case it is the most practical material. In some homes you can still find thimbles that make a beautiful decoration. Some of them are very intricately made, and all the embellishments have been crafted with due care.
Everyone who is starting their adventure with sewing should get a metal thimble in our sewing shop. This way they will protect their fingers from unnecessary pricks with the needle. This happens particularly when working with thick and hard materials.
