Threading tool for needles – Metal needle threader

A prize to whoever hasn’t at least once cursed the eye of a needle that the thread simply wouldn’t go through. You need to quickly sew or darn something, or a button has just come off your coat, and you’re already standing in the hallway and need to fix your garment.

In keeping with the saying that misfortunes come in pairs, this time too the thread refuses to go into the needle, and you have to go to work in a coat without a button.

There is a solution for such unexpected difficulties. In the little box with your needles there should be a threading tool. It is a very small and inexpensive item that makes work easier. The metal needle threader consists of a handle to which a piece of wire is attached, shaped into a circle and bent at one third of its height. We pass the thread through the hole formed by the wire and fold the threading tool so that the wires meet. The joined wire, with the thread inside, is then passed through the eye of the needle and it’s done. The thread is on the other side. Thanks to the fact that the wire of this device is stiff, it passes through the needle eye much more easily. The thread is flexible and often ‘escapes’ from the eye or slips on it, unlike the threader.

A threader works perfectly with both hand‑sewing needles and machine needles.
